Summary:
Project SHAPE was a randomized controlled trial designed to improve food portion size estimation skills and self-efficacy for portion estimation. A convenience sample of 76 women was recruited and randomly assigned to one of three conditions: computer-based training with a video, group-based training, or a wait-list control condition. Both the computer-based and group-based training represented brief interventions involving one 2-hour session. Outcome analyses examined improvements in reported and observed portion estimation skills, as well as psychosocial correlates of portion estimation.
